Time Tells a Story

My life through time

A 10-Year Journey to Independence, Love, and Fulfillment

Starting a New Chapter: Living Independently

Ten years ago, I embarked on a new chapter of my life—finally living independently, away from my parents.

I quickly discovered, though, that apartment living wasn’t for me. After a falling out with my roommate, I moved out.

Over the next five years, I tried living in two other places with roommates, but it became clear:
Living with others was a challenge.

So, I set a new goal—to live on my own.

Finding Joy in Solo Living

Eventually, I found a small duplex, got myself a sweet kitty, and fell in love with solo living.
Contrary to my initial fears, I found independence empowering.
I learned to appreciate my own company.

When My Home Was Put Up for Sale

Things changed again when the duplex was put up for sale.

I had to keep everything spotless, with potential buyers coming in at all hours.
It felt intrusive. Unpleasant.
That’s when I set another goal:
To buy my own house. On my terms.

Achieving Homeownership Through Hard Work

On April 11, 2021, after three years of hard work, I achieved that goal.

I became a proud homeowner.

As I reflect on the last 10 years, I feel so much pride—and a little nostalgia.
Despite the setbacks, I kept moving forward, step by step.

And it’s an amazing feeling.

A New Chapter: Love and Shared Dreams

Now, my life has taken a beautiful new turn.

I’m with the love of my life, and together, we’ve set a new goal:
To find a house, purchase it jointly, and rent out the other two properties as income.

Reflecting on 10 Years of Growth

Looking back at all of this made me think about that common question we were asked in school:
“Where do you see yourself in 10 years?”

Well… here I am.
I did it.
I set goals and made them happen.

And now, I’m looking forward to setting new goals—for the next 10 to 20 years.

I’m cherishing the present, living in gratitude, and embracing all that life brings.

Living in Gratitude and Looking Ahead

Gratitude fills my heart.
I thank the higher power for the opportunities I’ve had and the lessons I’ve learned.

I am eternally grateful for the man by my side.
I truly believe that 18 years ago, God showed me the person I would grow old with.

Today, I’m living the life I was meant to live.
And I believe the best relationships are still to come.

I finally feel whole, content, and excited for what’s ahead.
